I'm currently a health and social care student in the North West Regional College, Derry. I have a keen interest in working with children and young people with learning disabilities and special educational needs. I intend to train to be a special educational needs teacher in Liverpool Hope University from September 2011. I work voluntary with a four year old girl who has a severe speach and language delay in order to gain experience working with children who have additional needs as well as with my younger counsin who has ASD. From January 2010 I've being completing work experience in The Holy Family School, Cootehill, Co. Cavan.
I have worked with the children in the ASD unit, the special care unit as well as the senior school. I enojoy sports. I swim often. I also ride horses for pleasure and competitions. I compete in showjumping as well as cross country. I also follow racing and attend race meetings.
