I am a father to three boys, 4yrs, 2yrs and 5 months. My four year old was diagnosed with ASD at the age of two and we were fortunate to live in Encintas California at the time as the services for early intervention were exceptional. We moved to Ireland in August of 2010 as my father was very ill and has passed away recently. My wife has always been proactive about our son's diagnosis and we attended the Hansen Foundation "More than words" parental training course for parents with a child on the Spectrum. I am interested in starting a father's support group in the Limerick area as I have been previously in contact with fathers who have children on the spectrum and found good support there as well as being able to share experience to people who struggle with the varagies of daily living with Autism.
