Fun Activities for ASD Teens in Monaghan (1/15 Oct, 1/2 Nov 2011)

Autism Initiatives would like to invite Teens and Pre-teens with Autism to join us for fun activities and adventures including sports events, day trips and arts and crafts. 

Participants will be supported on a 1:1 basis.

Events will take place from 10.30 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Monaghan Harps Complex on following days:

1st & 15th October 2011,
1st & 2nd of November 2011

New Autisim facility for mid-Monaghan school

The Principal and Board of Management at St Oliver Plunkett National School in Loughmourne near Castleblayney are being praised for their efforts in establishing an autism unit at the school. The Department of Education and Science has agreed to allocate €450,000 euro to establish a permanent building for the unit.

It's understood increased demand for places at the school's autism section has meant a new building is required. Up to now the facility has been housed at temporary accommodation.
