Portumna Soccer Competition - Autism Fundraiser

Last year saw the rejuvenation of the Easter weekend five a side soccer tournament and this proved to be a big success with both with players and supporters alike. The aim of the tournament is to raise much needed funds for two schools which are helping to enhance the standards of life for the children who attend them while providing entertainment and exercise for the people of the town and the surrounding areas.

The topic for the first annual spring workshop at Queens University Belfast will be managing challenging behaviours. This event will take place on on April 13th 2010 at 10am until 3pm in the Cathcart Room G13, 69 University Street, Belfast, BT7 1HL.

The workshop will be facilitated by BCBA accredited Behaviour Analysts, Nicola McAuley (MScBA), Nichola Booth (BCBA) and Leanne Jenkinson (BCBA).

The workshop is for parents/carers, tutors, students and professionals.

Entry is includes coffee/tea and light lunch. Prices are Early Bird £50 or at the door: £60.

On April 21st 2010 the third national Job Shadow Initiative hundreds of Individuals with disabilities throughout Ireland will be afforded the unique opportunity to shadow a workplace mentor (employee) as he or she goes through a normal working day at hundreds of employment sites/companies across the country.
