The Red Door (Learning Centre) for Autistic Children was set up by a group of parents in 2001 with a vision is that by providing specialised educational and therapeutic services, autistic children can be helped to reach their full potential. The Centre's objectives include:
To offer a diagnostic and assessment service to children presenting ASD characteristics:

* To become a Centre of Excellence for the teaching of ASD children
* To provide on-going support to children who progress to mainstream education

The Red Door's web-site
I've just seen The Red Door School's web-site, and it includes a huge amount of info on Rights and Entitlements, which makes it really easy to see what's what.
They are also doing another Autism Conference next June. I was at the previous ones, and they had great speakers from america and from some of the local ABA schools. Really suitable to parents.
It also includes piles of info on the proposed change to Special School status which the IAA agreed with the Dept of Ed.
