32 Marathon Challenge Fundraiser Night - Landmark Hotel, Carrick On Shannon - August 1st - 8.30pm till Late
The Challenge: Gerry Duffy and Ken Whitelaw will attempt to run 32 consecutive marathons in 32 counties in just 32 days! This promises to be a truly amazing accomplishment should they be successful. Their second last marathon will be in Leitrim on August 1st around the grounds of Lough Rynn Estate.
Lending support to the challenge in Leitrim will be Charlie McGettigan who will act as Race Starter for the county and Ray Darcy will be taking part in the run.
All money raised in the county will stay in the county.
So how can you help?
Runners and walkers are wanted to run on Sunday for either 10k, half marathon and full marathon. Or you could volunteer to hand out water along the route and cheer the participants along the route. Please contact Lisa Mulvey on 0863000140.
There will be a bucket collection in Carrick on Shannon from 11am. Volunteers are wanted for this so if you are interested contact Noel on 087 9170112
A fundraising night will take place after the Leitrim leg of this challenge in the Landmark Hotel, Carrick on Shannon.
Starting at 8.30pm to 10.30pm there will be traditional Irish music and dancers to keep you entertained
From 10.30pm until Very Late Colm O'Sullivan, from I102 fm, will be hosting Blinddate. There will be an evening of lots of laughs with the blind date contestants, tunes from Colm O'Sullivan, spot prizes, raffle prizes and much more.
