Nenagh Indoor Sensory Arena is a project of a new Irish Charity, ARC Eireann.
The charity has been set up by parents of children with autism spectrum disorders to support the child, the siblings, the parents and the extended family when it comes to understanding how autism effects the child and those around them.
"This website is an attempt to give someone an idea of what it is like to have Asperger's Syndrome. My name is Derek, and I am an afflictee of the condition, from Ireland. Although I did not get a formal diagnosis, I am fairly sure that I have the condition. I usually refer to the condition simply as "AS". In today's busy lifestyle anything is fair game for getting abbreviated, and Asperger's Syndrome is no exception."
"Camphill was established to work with people who were mentally handicapped - and this is still its principal role today. From the outset, the intention was to do this work not as a 'job' in the usual sense of the word, but as a way of life. Our Communities are formed of groups of people, some with special needs or disability, some more able, who live, work and learn together, in an atmosphere of mutual respect.".
