Leitrim County Council has installed a sensory room for children with special needs in its library in Mohill. This will provide educational and therapeutic supports for these children in a fun environment.
It is envisaged that when it is open the room will be booked in advance by parents and carers of children with special needs who will accompany them and assist them when using the equipment. There will be no charge for the use of the facilities.
The Council will provide a series of brief training sessions for parents and carers of children with special needs who would like to use the room. This training will take place on Wednesday 28th September in Mohill Library. The training will demonstrate how parents and carers could best use the facilities in the room to benefit children as part of their care programme.
These sessions will last approximately 30 minutes and will be held throughout the day.
If you or a member of your association would like to attend one of these sessions please contact Gabrielle Flynn County Library Ballinamore at 071 9645570 or via email at gabflynn@leitrimcoco.ie on or before Monday 19th September.
Please include the full name, address, phone number and email address of the person/persons nominated to attend the training, as each nominee will be contacted again with a scheduled time for his or her training.
