Nenagh Indoor Sensory Arena is a project of a new Irish Charity, ARC Eireann.
The charity has been set up by parents of children with autism spectrum disorders to support the child, the siblings, the parents and the extended family when it comes to understanding how autism effects the child and those around them.

The inaugural Ribbon Rhythm Festival will provide a weekend of great music in aid of a good cause in the Mount Errigal Hotel in Letterkenny on Friday, February 26, and Saturday 27, 2011.
This brand new two-day musical spectacular has already attracted a stellar line-up of acts and it is planned to run it on an annual basis. The 2011 festival will raise much-needed funds for the Donegal Autism Parent's Support Group and to increase awareness of its work in the county.
I attach a brouchure on a seminar which the Leitrim/West Cavan Branch of Down Syndrome Ireland is organising on Special Education Needs and which will take place in Carrick-on-Shannon, Co. Leitrim on November 11th.

We are pleased to learn that Connacht Gold has selected Irish Autism Action to be its Charity of the Year for 2010. Connacht Gold has always been very supportive of good causes in the community and this year they wish to help support local autism initiatives in the region. As part of the partnership they will make a direct financial contribution and hope it can be supplemented through staff fund-raising efforts in 2010.
Some parents in Sligo have set up a support group for parents of children with Asperger's syndrome.
The next meeting is Monday 22nd February at 8pm in St. Michaels family life centre, Sligo,
At the moment the meetings are held every second Monday.

Today Ireland’s first one stop website for autism information was launched today. www.autismsupport.ie is the result of a partnership between Irish Autism Action, Gheel Autism Services, Aspire, Tuiscint (Eastern Vocational Enterprises ltd), ABHAILE/Drogheda ABACAS School for Children with Autism and Cork Association for Autism.

Carers Week commences 8th of June. Roscommon Carers Association is marking this week by hosting a Barbecue with live music in Cuisle Holiday Centre, Donamon on Wednesday 10th June at 3pm. The afternoon is for all families who are caring for family members in County Roscommon. Carers from Longford, Westmeath, Sligo, Offaly and Dublin will be there on the day. Established in 2000, Gra, Autism is a not-for-profit, parent led support group for families with an autistic family member. Based in Galway, the group aims to provide support services and facilitates for the families, loved ones and carers of children and young people with autism.
HADD is an organisation in Ireland made up of volunteers - mainly parents of children with ADHD. As of 2009, local support groups exist in Mayo and Donegal.
