The Carers Association Roscommon has organized two Social Events for Carers Week, 12th-19th June 2011

My name is Stephen and I’m a 14-year-old boy living with a sister who suffers from autism and ADHD.  Life is very hard having a sister with special needs – it’s all about Lorna. 

The mornings are always a struggle in our house, as it’s Lorna’s way or no way. She dictates when she gets up, how she gets washed, and even the way I eat my breakfast. If I go against Lorna in the slightest way, all hell will break loose. 

Nua Healthcare creates 30 new jobs

Specialised residential, respite and day-care providers, Nua Healthcare, today said it will create 30 new jobs in Kildare and Offaly by June of this year.

It was a night of great food, fun and laughter, when a major male carers' celebration event entitled "What About Me?" was held at the Erne Dynasty Restaurant in Enniskillen recently.

The event, which was organised by local social enterprise Me Unltd, in partnership with Positive Futures and the Western Health and Social Care Trust, was well attended with over 60 male carers and their families attending.

Borders Asperger and Autism Group Support (BAAGS) supporters and members, we have been able to purchase the CARER-VAN. A luxury 8-berth caravan, situated at Berwick Holiday Park, available for short breaks/respite/holidays.

The 8 berth CARER-VAN is fully equipped with microwave, fridge, TV/DVD , cooker, travel cot, special needs pushchair.
- The decking area allows the luxury of a separate play area for the kids!!!!
- Gas and electricity is included .
- Passes to all on—site facilities for your party can be included in the cost of your holiday.
