The goal is to empower parents by giving them the information &
tools to support their child & also to adapt strategies as the need
arises.
It is taking place Saturday the 19th of November
in the Dancing Soul in Athlone & there will be a maximum of 12

A colleague (SLT) & I are running a workshop in Athlone in

extensive experience in working with children & families. The idea
behind the workshop is to empower parents with

Dear parent/carer,
My name is Kady Francis, I am currently a student of Psychology at the National University of Ireland Galway. I am conducting research into the area of toileting problems in children and adolescents with Autism Spectrum Disorder, and their relationship to sleep, quality of life, adaptive functioning and language.
I have a great interest in this topic and believe that it is an area which is extremely under researched.
I am hoping to recruit parents/carers of children with ASD aged between 4-17 years.
Participation requires filling out questionnaires about your child's specific behaviours. Questionnaires will be available in hardcopy and via email, depending on what suits parents best.
If you think you may be interested please contact me by email as soon as possible with the age of your child and I will send you further details. My email is k.francis2@nuigalway.ie

This promises to be a very educational and interesting talk...one not to be missed.
It is hoped to form a ‘Parent Support Group ‘from the Midlands area at the presentation.
Saplings was through the energy and commitment of a small group of parents and professionals in the Kildare area a number of years ago.

Saplings schools currently provide places for 84 children in the Greater Leinster area but demand for places is such that existing facilities have surpassed their current capacity (Government funding remains a issue).
